It’s no secret that I’ve had a lifelong affection for the Brazilian culture. From the wondrous landmarks to the enchanting, flamboyant spirit of its citizens, Brazil holds a near and dear spot in my heart. Yet, the one aspect that’s shaped my fascination with this culture centers on the exquisite cuisine that ought to not only be described but also experienced.
Upon hearing about the grand opening of the latest Brazilian Churrascaria in South Tampa, Terra Gaucha, I knew I had to jump on board and re-encounter my favorite Brazilian dishes! Want a clue with how my first dining experience went? Let’s just say that I’ve already planned to visit again soon, very very soon!
Keep scrolling below for a deep dive into South Tampa’s new famous Steakhouse that will entice every steak aficionado!
Immediately entering the restaurant, I was captivated by its carefully-thought-out interior decor! Such details truly brought out the Southern Gauchos’ (Brazilian cowboys) tradition and their lifestyle. In addition to portraying the Brazilian barbeque history, famous, there are authentic sides are stocked at the salad bar. My personal favorite, farofa, (shown below) consists of manioc flour with added pieces of bacon. This particular side dish pairs deliciously with feijoada (black beans with cooked pork) and white rice!
After visiting the salad bar, my date and I were warmly greeted with our favorite drinks and famous Brazilian cheese bread, pao de queijo (shown below). The drink menu entails numerous options, which is why we ordered more than one! Our selections went for the sweet, tropical taste of pineapple juice as well as the renowned Brazilian cocktail, caipirinha with added hints of pineapple and mint (can you tell we’re huge pineapple fans ?!?).
As the immense cheese bread fan that I am, I did have some serious expectations as to how tasteful this side would be. The reason being that each restaurant, each chef, has a special, unique way of preparing such bread, hence crafting a different taste. However, upon the first bite, I was infused with so much joy! Never have I ever experienced such a perfect combination of warm, soft, melting cheese all in one sitting! Terra Gaucha surpassed the bar and I highly encourage you all to indulge in their pao de queijo!
Now the best part unfolds with the ENDLESS assortments of beef, lamb, pork, and chicken, all served with such exquisite and fresh ingredients. The added, in-house Chefs (Gauchos) also significantly contribute towards the quality of such a meal as they go above and beyond in catering to one’s requests as I had done with asking for particular meats cooked on the well-done side. I must give credit to the Gauchos as all were so very hospitable and welcoming, only to make the dining experience more memorable.
P.S. Whenever you’re planning to visit Terra Gaucha, be sure to say “Oi” (hi) to Cicelo as he’s such a friendly individual and has such an amiable personality!
A good advice that I share with you all is to be sure to leave some extra room for the dessert! You all may know how much of a sweet tooth lover I am, so it deems fit for me to bear extra space and indulge with some sweet treats! The dessert menu is sure to tempt anyone as there’s a wide array of choices available. I gave way to the Caramel Fudge Cheesecake as there’s nothing better than a delicious mix of chocolate and caramel! This dessert dish only made my sweet tooth that much happier with every bite!
If I were to describe the entire dining experience at Terra Gaucha in one phrase, it would certainly have to be ” a darling moment”! The rich, wonderful meal accompanied by the gracious Gauchos and staff all fostered a phenomenal dinner. If you’re curious to discover how a Brazilian Steakhouse is brought to life, I absolutely encourage you to visit Terra Gaucha and witness firsthand the famous Gaucho culture!
